Spring Training - Starts May 15th Class A and May 17th Class B

Certification to the equivalent of the Canadian Yachting Association While Sail Level III is mandatory for all member sailors. The CYA website has more details.

The KSC provides its members training for the CYA White Sail program, and by extension to the club's Blue Tag. Such qualified skippers are allowed to sail any of the club's Albacores, Bytes, Lasers, and Tasar. Basic Training starts with orientation and an on-shore session, followed by a series of on-water practices with follow-up briefing sessions. The course spans six weeks from early May through late June.

For experienced sailors new to the club, a one-time checkout is required. A success here qualifies the skipper for a Blue Tag.
The club periodically offers catamaran training for renewing sailors. Qualified members receive their KSC CAT Tag. Contact the Training Director for details.

Courses for Basic (White Sail) Training
Spring Class A: Tuesdays 17:30 - 21:00 and Saturdays 12:00 - 16:00,
May 15th to June 23rd
Spring Class B: Thursdays 17:30 - 21:00 and Sundays 12:00 - 16:00,
May 17th to June 24th

Summer Class A: TBD Subject to enrollment levels
